Beyond Monumental has announced 2020 donations totaling $65,000. Receiving donations are IPS Education Foundation ($50,000), Lawrence Township Education Foundation ($10,000) and Pike Township Educational Foundation ($5,000). Donations are made in line with Beyond Monumental’s mission of educating Indianapolis youth on the benefits of exercise, proper diet, and healthy living.
“We’re extremely proud that we’re able to continue to make meaningful contributions to our beneficiaries in this year that has been filled with uncertainty,” said Jed Cornforth, Executive Director of Beyond Monumental. “It speaks to the ongoing support we’ve received from both our sponsors and the running community as we pivoted to virtual experiences and learned to navigate a new normal of mass participation events in 2020.”
All Beyond Monumental events were converted to virtual events in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In August of this year, CNO Financial Group announced their continued support of the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon by extending their sponsorship of the event through 2022.
“In 2020, it was more important than ever for CNO to continue our support of Beyond Monumental and advance our shared commitment to the health and wellness of our community,” said Rocco Tarasi, Chief Marketing Officer of CNO Financial Group. “I was excited to join nearly 200 CNO associates and their guests in running one of the virtual races, and on behalf of all of them, I want to thank Beyond Monumental for their spectacular slate of virtual events this fall. It was inspiring to see so many runners continuing to compete and challenge themselves. We look forward to another great event in 2021.”
Plans are ongoing for in-person events in 2021. Registration for the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon will open for registration at 12:00 AM on January 1 with special “Monumental Resolution” pricing. More information is available at www.beyondmonumental.org
