Beyond Monumental has a new registration category for it’s 2020 signature event, the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. The newly established “Marathon in a Month” category will allow participants to complete 26.2 miles over the course of one month, broken in to shorter segments of their own choosing.
“We hear so many people say that they’ll ‘never run a marathon’,” said Jed Cornforth, executive director of Beyond Monumental, “Whether it be because of lack of time to train, or being intimidated by the distance, we want to remove those barriers and help people achieve something they never thought possible. By allowing participants to break a marathon into shorter segments, we’re helping people see what they’re truly capable of.”
The Marathon in A Month will take place in November, 2020, and coincide with the virtual 2020 CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K. The 26.2 mile endeavor can be broken in to any number of days and distances within that month, giving a participant nearly endless possible combinations of achieving their goal. Each segment of the race will be submitted and compiled in a results database for comparison with others.
Participants in the new category will receive a performance fleece quarter-zip top and a free-standing, commemorative medal in the mail upon completion of the competition window. A live leader board of compiled results will be available.
As an added benefit, as with all Beyond Monumental events, proceeds from this new event category will help provide access and opportunity to health and wellness programming including Monumental Kids Movement.
