Littler Now the Presenting Sponsor of the 2019 CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon “Green Team”
Beyond Monumental has announced a new partnership with Littler as the presenting sponsor of the “Green Team” for the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. The Green Team’s mission is to minimize the waste and carbon footprint of the Marathon on race day.
Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, is working to reduce its carbon footprint. In 2015, it initiated the Less Paper Project across its 80 offices, moving from a paper heavy environment to one with significantly more electronic document management. The project received the Transformation Award from OmTool and has reduced paper documents and usage throughout the firm, including in the Indianapolis office.
“We’re taking several initiatives this year to make sustainable choices for our events” said Jed Cornforth, executive director of Beyond Monumental, “We’ve started placing compost bins in the finish line, reduced our print materials for the expo by over 40,000 pieces, and have started using compostable drinking cups at two water stations. Partnering with Littler has helped us make those changes and more.”
Beyond Monumental continues to partner with both national and local companies. Title sponsor CNO Financial Group has renewed their partnership through 2020, and presenting sponsors Franciscan Health and Apex Benefits continue their multi-year presence. Other sponsors include Athletic Annex, Clif Bar Baking Co., CycleBar Fishers, Domino’s, Delta Faucet, GEICO, Littler, Lyft, Marathon Petroleum, Taylor’s Bakery, Tru Moo Milk and White Claw Hard Seltzer.
The full marathon as sold out for the 8th consecutive year. A waitlist is available and participants will be allowed to register as space permits. The half marathon is currently at 85% capacity and may sell out before the Monumental Health and Fitness Expo – a first for that distance.
Registration remains open online for the 5K and Kids Fun Run through November 5th and will be available at the 2019 Monumental Health and Fitness Expo, taking place at the Indiana Convention Center on November 7 and 8.
