Casey Collins takes on new role; New Board President and Board Members Announced

Beyond Monumental, the 501(c)3 non-profit responsible for the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, has promoted Casey Collins to Director of Operations & Community Outreach. Additionally, serving board member John Stille has been named president of the board of directors, and several new board members have been named.

Casey Collins has worked for the organization since August of 2012 when he began as Community Outreach Coordinator, and was quickly promoted to Community Outreach Manager in 2013. In the past 7 years he has been instrumental in the creation and growth of Monumental Kids Movement, Beyond Monumental’s youth running program that aims to educate elementary students on the importance of healthy, active living. As Director of Operations & Community Outreach, he will take on a larger role in overall project management, logistics, and race day organization.

“Casey’s ability to lead within the organization has been one of the key factors of growth in our programs and events,” said Jed Cornforth, executive director of Beyond Monumental, “His experience and overall knowledge of the intricacies of large-scale events is essential to our operational achievement. His new role reflects that.”

John Stille, a Senior Clinical Research Advisor at Eli Lilly and Company, has served on the Beyond Monumental Board of Directors since 2015. A multi-time Monumental finisher himself, Stille has volunteered at the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon finish line every year since 2012.  He currently competes in cross-country and trail races.

“I believe that one of the unique strengths of Beyond Monumental is as a catalyst for the community energy and camaraderie generated by these races. These events bring together our valued sponsors, volunteers, medical support, race pacers, coaches, running clubs, students, teachers, and spectators as a community to inspire the participants to achieve their personal bests, whether their first race, a Boston Marathon Qualifying performance, or an Olympic Trials qualifying time. My objective as Board President is to lead the continued effort to strengthen these festivals as celebrations of personal and community achievement and to fortify our mission for youth health and well-being in the Indianapolis area,” said Stille.

Three new board members have also been named for a 3-year term: Samantha Chapman, Business Services Division Attorney, Indiana Secretary of State, Ashley Haynes, Director of Marketing, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and Brad Sugarman, Partner, Bose McKinney & Evans LLP.

Registration for the all Beyond Monumental events, including the Monumental Mile (June 7), Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben (October 5) and CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon (November 9) is open and available online at beyondmonumental.org.
