CELEBRATING 30 YEARS: INDY HALF MARATHON AT FORT BEN RETURNS WITH NEW FEATURES & 30th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Indianapolis, IN – October 2, 2025 – The 30th Annual Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben will take place this Saturday, October 4, 2025 around the City of Lawrence and Fort Harrison State Park. This year marks three decades of one of Central Indiana’s premier fall running traditions, with over 3,000 participants expected across the Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kids One Mile.
New for 2025, participants and spectators will enjoy:
- Live participant tracking through the official race app
- A commemorative 30th Anniversary Finisher Medal
- The event’s first-ever Finisher Hat
- A celebratory pancake breakfast from IHOP Catering
Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben – Schedule of Events:
Friday, October 3 – Expo & Packet Pickup
- Hours: 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Location: The Garrison Conference Center (6002 N Post Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46216)
- Parking is available in front of the main entrance, located just east of the building. Check out the Packet Pickup Parking Map for more details.
- The Expo is open to the public, and is an opportunity for participants to pick up their race materials as well as check out race merch, sponsor activations, and booths from our community partners!
- On-site registration is limited, and will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, & Kids One Mile. For more information, please visit indyhalfmarathon.com.

- 7:45 a.m. Opening Ceremonies Begin with Honorary Starter, Lawrence Mayor Deb Whitfield
- 7:50 a.m. Cadet Honor Guard & National Anthem – Titan Cadet Squadron, McKenzie Center for Innovation & Technology, and Isabella Henry, Lawrence Central High School
- 8:00 a.m. Half Marathon & 10K Start
- 8:25 a.m. 5K Start
- 8:40 a.m. Apex Benefits Monumental Kids Movement 5K Start, featuring 11 Lawrence Township schools and nearly 600 students.
- 11:00 a.m. Kids One Mile
Things to Watch:
- 30th Anniversary Celebration: Participants and spectators will join in commemorating three decades of community running, health, and wellness.
- Regional Field: An elite field from across the midwest competing for the Indy Half Marathon title. Highlights include:
- The Men’s Elite Field will feature an exciting lineup led by Ben Veatch, 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials 5,000m finalist; Ethan Meyer, University of Louisville alum; and William Cadwell of South Haven, MI, who placed 55th at the 2025 Boston Marathon. All three enter with seed times under 1:08:00.
- On the women’s side, defending 2024 Indy Half Champion Hannah Bast returns to chase another title. She’ll face strong competition from Tera Moody, 2025 Illinois Marathon winner and a 2009 Team USA representative at the World Championships, as well as Abbey Warth, a standout from Ohio Wesleyan University.
- Youth Impact: Nearly 600 Lawrence Township students will represent the Apex Benefits Monumental Kids Movement presented by IU Indianapolis program and take on their culminating 5K this Saturday. These students receive free 5K entry as part of their bi-weekly school running program. This program has expanded from 18 to 60+ Marion County schools since 2013, and this year will feature 11 Lawrence elementary schools and one middle school.
The event expects nearly 5,000 participants and spectators. A course map is available here, and a site/parking map can be found here.
