Three-time Olympian Will Attend Multiple Events and Speak at Expo
Beyond Monumental is excited to announce that three-time Olympian and 2004 Olympic bronze medalist Deena Kastor will be in attendance at several events at the 2019 CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon race weekend, taking place November 7-9, 2019. Prior to race day, Kastor will attend the Monumental Shake Out Run and be on site and speaking at the Monumental Health and Fitness Expo. She will also participate as a pace group leader for the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Half Marathon on Saturday, November 9.
Deena Kastor, one of the most accomplished American road runners in history, is a three-time Olympian, 12-time National Champion and currently holds the American Record in the Marathon (2:19:36). In 2004, she ended a 20-year medal drought for U.S. women in the Olympic marathon when she won the bronze medal in Athens, Greece. She has won both the Chicago Marathon and London Marathon, and has held American records in distances from 5K to the marathon. Her recent book, “Let Your Mind Run: A Memoir of Thinking My Way to Victory” focuses on her experience with mental training and how her attitude ultimately helped her succeed.

The 2019 CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon has sold out for the past seven consecutive years. The 12th annual event takes place on Saturday, November 9, 2019. Registration is open online.
